Grand Knight’s Message

Hello everyone.

Question 1. Did you survive the winter weather of February 2022? I know that was an easy one. If you are reading this, the answer is yes. Now the hard one. Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you are right with God heading into this Lenten Season. What do you think? Now, take off those rose-colored glasses and look again. If you are like myself, I know we all could probably do better. Take the time this Lenten Season to examine your relationship with God and truly try to do what the Lord has instructed us to do in life.

I want to thank Brother Don White, Jr. and his wife Mary for again chairing the State K of C cash bonanza charity ticket campaign for our Council. The money from these ticket sales and rebates are what funds our Council’s charity account. Without everyone’s help and support we cannot accomplish what we as Knights are asked to do. “Help others in need”. This is our Council charity accounts only influx of funds for the year with the exception of individual donations.

I think that brings us up to another question. Isn’t that one of the things God wants asks all of us to do? Help others? Please give us a hand by purchasing charity tickets.

May all have a Blessed Lenten Season!
TOM GOODHART, GRAND KNIGHT

Fish fry

The South Akron Knights of Columbus will be hosting our annual Friday Lenten Fish Frys. The hall will be open from 4:30-7 p.m. each Friday during Lent. ALL DINNERS ARE CARRY OUT ONLY.

We will offer a fried fish dinner and a shrimp dinner. All dinners include french fries, hot rice and coleslaw. Orders can be placed in person at the hall, online at www.akronkofc.com, and over the phone. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Please note there are no dinner side substitutions.

Charity campaign cash bonanza

This is the Knights of Columbus largest annual charity fund raiser which provides the charitable funding for the year. We ask that you sell all of your tickets and request more if you are able by calling the council at 330-773-3410.

Thank you to the 40% of membership that sold tickets last year. If you weren’t able, could you please buy or sell some tickets for our council this year.

As you know, the KNIGHTS of COLUMBUS is a non-profit, tax exempt organization. We provide funding to various charities and families who are in need. All requests for funds are screened by our committee. Last year our council donated a total of $6.000+ to 30+ local organizations and/or people in need. This was made possible by YOU through Cash Bonanza ticket sales. Not all requests were able to be funded. Let’s make 2022 the year we fill every request!

God bless you all!
Chairmen,
Don White Jr. & Tom Goodhart
