Grand Knight’s Message
September was a busy month. I am happy to share what we have accomplished this month.
Thank you everyone who helped with Football Crazr sales this year. We crushed our goal for the year and as of this writing tickets are still coming in. After this Wednesday, Oct. 1 weekly drawing, I will be mailing in what we have to the state officer in charge of the Football Crazr. Right now, we have 356 tickets to mail in. Great job to everyone who sold and bought tickets!
Another thank you to everyone who helped us with another successful Oktoberfest. Rod White, Larry Whalen and Dave DeShane. I think I may still be cooking if it wasn’t for your help! We had over 110 people in attendance and many were out there dancing. Thanks for coming out! The donations collected covered the cost of the band.
In September, we held our annual shoe drive. WOW, we have turned our coat room into a shoe room. This is the largest amount of shoes I have seen our council ever collect. October 1 is the final day to get shoes turned in. We will donate them to The Free Store in Kenmore at Immaculate Conception and the John Hilkert Ozanam Center at Visitation of Mary Parish.
As the summer of 2025 wraps up, so does the Knights of Columbus Thursday night golf league. Thank you Mike Payne for running the league again this year.
Brother Knights: We will have an exemplification ceremony at our November meeting. If you know of any Catholic men age 18+, please invite them to join our council on November 5.
Over the next few months, we have quite a few activities taking place and tickets are on sale now for both the reverse raffle and a NYE party at the hall. Family and friends are welcome to come to both of these events. Read over our activities section for more information and get your tickets before they sell out.
Over the next several newsletters, I will be describing the different officer roles of our council that we elect each spring. We will take nominations in the spring and vote in May. The newly elected will start in July 2026.
Be Good Everyone.
Steve Dort, Grand Knight
