Grand Knight’s Message

Council #3410 did a great job with Football Crzr ticket sales. Our council turned in a total of 285 tickets! That is 126 more than last year. 285 tickets sold puts us at 75% of our quota sold. We missed our full quota by 10 tickets. As we say around this part of Ohio, there is always next year. My understanding is that we have earned a $7.50 rebate on each ticket sold which will be put into our charity account and 50% credit on our per capita amount we owe the state each year.

Thank you to everyone who donated food for the food pantry. All items were donated to the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry.

Our memorial mass is this month. Come out to Immaculate Conception for a mass for all of council #3410 members who have passed away this year, including our past Chaplain and the past pastor of Immaculate Conception Fr. Michael B. Smith. Due to the cut in masses at Immaculate Conception our mass is now Saturday, November 16, at 5 p.m.

Speaking of Chaplain, we have talked to a few priests of our parishes. We thought we had someone, but the diocese asked him to fulfill another role. At this point, we still do not have a chaplain, but as soon as we do, I will let you all know.

We are collecting Acme cash back receipts for St. Francis De Sales School. This runs into January 2025. The bottom of your Acme receipt is all we need. The envelope is at the bar in the lounge.

Shawn Needham has mailed out Lucky Number Club tickets that start in January 2025. There are a few left at the hall for sale. If you need tickets please contact Shawn. At $10 each, these make great Christmas stocking stuffers. Please return the tickets if you can not sell or purchase them.

The hall’s reverse raffle will take place Saturday, November 23, and tickets are on sale now. Contact Shawn Needham for tickets. Let’s have another sell out this year!

As I look at the December calendar, Christmas Day actually falls on the last Wednesday of the month. We will NOT have the monthly drawing on Christmas Day. We will hold the December monthly drawing on Wednesday, December 18. Enjoy Christmas with your family and friends.

We have a few men who are interested in joining our council. We will need to schedule an exemplification soon. We will talk about possible dates at our November council meeting. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining, have them contact our Membership Chairperson Pat DeShane, or Steve Dort.

We have some Brother Knights who can use our prayers. Please keep council #3410 members in your prayers, especially over this holiday season.

Thanksgiving themed monthly drawing – Wednesday, November 27

Our annual Thanksgiving potluck will take place this year on November 27. It is also our monthly drawing Wednesday. Keep your house clean for Thanksgiving and come down and have dinner at the hall.

Acme Cash Back Program

It is Acme Cash Back time. If you shop at Acme, at the bottom of your receipt, is the cash back amount. Please cut off that small part of the receipt and bring them to the hall. Look for an envelope on the table where you sign the book each week to put them in. At the end of the program in February, all receipts will be turned in to St. Francis De Sales Catholic School, our local K-8 Catholic school who is participating in the program.

2025 Lucky Number Club Tickets

There are a few tickets left! 77 chances to win $50 in January, February and March 2025. Payouts nightly Monday – Saturday – Ohio Lottery evening three digit drawing (Straight). For those that have tickets, you can drop off at the lounge Monday or Wednesday after 6 p.m., mail to the hall 2055 Glenmount Ave, Akron, OH 44319 or call Shawn Needham to arrange a pick up or for more tickets.
