Steak Out | Cookout and Rubber Ducks Game | Diocese of Cleveland Summer Events
Grand Knight’s Message
May sure flew by and here we are in June already. I gotta believe summer weather will be here soon. Here is a short recap of the month. Cash Bonanza sales ended and the drawing was held. As I watched the drawing of winners, I got excited for a split second when the 1st place prize was announced and they said council 3…4…1… and then stopped. Congratulations to all 25 winners and unfortunately no winners from council 3410. The state council did raise over one million dollars for charity for the second year in a row. Thanks again to Don White for heading up the campaign. Also, on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we had 23 people help place flags at Holy Cross Cemetery for our veterans. Thank you to everyone who came out.
June 3 is our monthly meeting. We do have one position we will be voting on for next year. Come to the meeting and vote. Also look at your July calendars. I will be proposing to move our July meeting from July 1 to July 8, since I will be out of town.
Looking ahead, we have a few summer events planned. June 21 will be a steak out at the hall and July 12 is our cookout and baseball game. Sign-ups are in the lounge for both events. These are open to everyone. If you can’t make it to the hall to sign up and would like to attend one or both of these events call or text Shawn Needham regarding the steak out, and call or text me about the baseball game.
Keep reading for future activities. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Be Good Everyone.
Steve Dort, Grand Knight
June Steak Out- Saturday, June 21
Our first steak out of the summer. 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sign up and pay in the lounge. Choice of chicken, steak, or shrimp. Grill your own meat and sides are provided. Feel free to bring a dessert to share.
Cookout and Rubber Ducks Game – Saturday, July 12
Brother Knight Daniel O’Donnell has offered to grill/cook for us at the hall before the Rubber Ducks game. Cost for both the cookout and a game ticket is $15 per person. After we eat, we can head downtown to Canal Park. For those that have come to the game with us in the past, we will try to beat the heat this year with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch, as well as purchasing tickets without the direct late day sun. Sign-ups for both the cookout and the game in the lounge by July 9.
