Diaper Drive | 2025 Membership Dues | Euchre Tournament and Chili Cook Off
Grand Knight’s Message
Merry Christmas Everyone.
What a great turn out at Immaculate Conception for our memorial mass last month. There were over 45 council members and wives in attendance. Good job Council 3410.
Also last month was the reverse raffle. Shawn Needham and his team did a great job of organizing and running another fun and successful evening. Congratulations to all that walked away winners.
Thank you to our CLC for purchasing a new hot dog roller machine for the lounge. It is so much quieter than the old one, I couldn’t tell if it was even on. If you haven’t been down on a Wednesday or have never been down on a Wednesday stop in and check out the new machine. Doors open at 6 pm.
With Christmas Day falling on the last Wednesday of the month, we will hold the December monthly drawing on Wednesday, December 18. Santa Claus plans on stopping by that evening also. The lounge will be closed on December 25, and January 1, 2025.
Watch for an email or a paper flyer in the lounge for the opportunity to purchase Knights of Columbus Council #3410 apparel. We will be having one in December for clothing and hats, and then in early 2025 another one for Aprons and T -Shirts for the fish frys.
For our December acts of charity and a life activity for our council, we are having a diaper drive for the Embrace Clinic. Between now and December 18 drop of your donated diapers and/or baby wipes in the lobby at the hall under the Christmas tree.
We are having an exemplification ceremony on December 3, starting at 7 pm right before our council meeting. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining our council have them contact our Membership Chairperson Pat DeShane. Men can also contact Steve Dort.
We do have some January events coming up. Our annual Euchre Tournament and Chili Cook off will be on January 25. Last year we made enough money to purchase 3 wheelchairs through the Knights of Columbus wheelchair program. More information in the sections below.
Members of Council #3410 are invited to a clergy appreciation dinner on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Center for Pastoral Leadership. Cost is $35 per chapter member. I will include the flier at the end of the newsletter.
In January plan on paying your council dues. Paying them right away keeps you eligible for weekly and monthly drawings.
We are collecting Acme cash back receipts for St. Francis De Sales School. This runs into January 2025. The bottom of your Acme receipt is all we need. The envelope is at the bar in the lounge.
Looking even farther ahead, let’s get together and enjoy a fish fry as a group before we are all busy with running our lenten fish frys. If you are free come out and join us at the Polish American Club for their weekly fish fry on Friday, February 21. Watch for more information in the upcoming months.
Please keep Brother Tyler Needham in your prayers. He is having some health issues. As always, please keep council #3410 members in your prayers.
Keep reading the newsletter for more activities taking us into the new year.
Be Good Everyone.
Steve Dort, Grand Knight
Diaper Drive for the Embrace Clinic
We will be collecting diapers and wipes to donate to the Embrace Clinic until December 18. Please drop off donations under the Christmas tree in the hall lobby. If anyone would like to volunteer to drop off our donations and take pictures for the council, please let me know.
2025 Membership Dues
In January dues for Brother Knights, Spouses, and social members are due. Pay at the hall to save us money from mailing out the cards and reminders.
Euchre Tournament and Chili Cook Off
Our 2025 Euchre Tournament and Chili Cook Off will take place on January 25th. Sign ups will be available in the lounge. This event is open to everyone. You are welcome to invite friends and family. The money raised this night will go to the Knights of Columbus Global Wheelchair Mission.
Acme Cash Back Program
January 14 is the end of the Acme Cash Back Program for this year. If you shop at Acme, at the bottom of your receipt, is the cash back amount. Please cut off that small part of the receipt and bring them to the hall. Look for an envelope on the table where you sign the book each week to put them in. At the end of the program in February, all receipts will be turned in to St. Francis De Sales Catholic School, our local K-8 Catholic school who is participating in the program.
Polish American Club Fish Fry Group Dinner
Join us for a night out for a fish fry dinner at the Polish American Club before Lent starts. Friday, February 21 at 5:30 pm. We will have a sign up in January to have an idea how many will be attending. Cost of dinner is on you!
Fish Fry
Lent will start on Ash Wednesday, March 5, and end with Good Friday, April 18. Watch for information and volunteer sign ups.
Spring Craft Fair
2025 Spring Craft Fair will be on Saturday, April 26. Vendor tables went quickly, and we have a waitlist for those who still want a table. Doors will open at 9:00 am for shoppers.
