Grand Knight’s Message

We made it through winter! With three weeks left in Lent, please plan ahead to attend your parish’s Holy Week activities and services.

Here is a recap of March. We had an exemplification on March 4 that initiated 10 new Brothers. Please welcome Mark Aumon, Dennis Gorcoff, Mark Burkhart, Scott Wightman, Michael Pitzo, Paul Bralek, Mike Drexler, Rob Holderbaum, Graham Evans, and Daniel O’Donnell to Council 3410.

Thank you to Dave and Zach DeShane for running another fun cornhole league and getting us through the cold winter months.

There have been four Fish Frys already and have three more left. Have you been out yet? If not, you have three more chances. Thank you to the volunteers who work hard to make each week a success!

Keep selling and turning in those Cash Bonanza tickets. Watch your email for council updates on our turn in numbers. The drawing takes place Saturday, May 17.

The end of April has some great offerings for everyone. Saturday, April 26 is the craft fair. Once again, vendors sold out early. Please come out and shop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our best advertisement is by word of mouth, so share our event with your family and friends. Thank you to our local parishes who have agreed to place it in their bulletins.

Sunday, April 27 at St. Paul Parish, the 8 a.m. mass is being said for the Brothers of Council 3410. Father Pfeiffer has agreed to allow us to participate in different parts of the mass. More information will be shared at our council meeting on April 1 and in future emails.

In January, we shared information about this year being a Jubilee year. Mark your calendar for Monday, April 28, as Father Damien Ference will be at Queen of Heaven Church talking about Bishop Malesic’s pastoral letter and how it connects to the Jubilee Year of Hope from 7 to 9 p.m.

Keep reading the newsletter for future activities. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me.

Be Good Everyone.
Steve Dort, Grand Knight

Fish Fry

Three more Fridays left, including Good Friday, April 18. Doors will be open 4:30 to 7 p.m. Come out to eat with family and friends, carry out or volunteer for a couple of hours.

Craft Fair

The 2025 Spring Craft Fair will be on Saturday, April 26. Vendor tables are sold out. Doors will open at 9 a.m. for shoppers. Flyers are in the lounge to share with family and friends. Thank you to those that have signed up to volunteer that day. We are still looking for some people to help put away tables and chairs at 3 p.m.

Mass for Council #3410

On Sunday, April 27 at the 8 a.m. mass, at St. Paul Parish, the intention will be for all Brothers of council 3410. If you can, please attend the mass. All Brothers Knights are asked to meet at the doors and take the offertory to the altar together. There will also be parts of the mass that you can volunteer for. More will be discussed at our council meeting on April 1. We had many people respond positively to us doing this last year.

A Jubilee Revival for a Flourishing Church

Join Fr. Damian Ference, vicar for evangelization for the Diocese of Cleveland, at the Summit County Jubilee sacred site, Queen Of Heaven, for a reflection on Bishop Malesic’s pastoral letter, A Flourishing Apostolic Church, and how it connects to the Jubilee Year of Hope and the Eucharistic Revival. This will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 28. You can obtain a plenary indulgence by making a pilgrimage to one of the Sacred Jubilee Sites and fulfilling the other typical conditions.

Kentucky Derby May 3

Our first Steak Out of 2025 will also be our Kentucky Derby Party. Sign ups for your meat choice (steak or chicken) will be in the lounge soon. As a reminder, please pay for your dinner ahead of time. The grills will be hot and you cook your own meat. Sides are provided. You are welcome to bring a dessert to share. Come out to eat and stay and play some games and watch the Kentucky Derby in the lounge.

Flags for Veterans

Saturday, May 24 join us at Holy Cross Cemetery to place flags at the graves of Veterans. Meet at 8 a.m. at the main office. If you have any questions, please reach out to Brother Bill Canan. Family and friends are welcome to join.

Cookout and Rubber Ducks Game – July 12

Brother Knight Daniel O’Donnell has offered to grill/cook for us at the hall before the Rubber Ducks Game on Saturday, July 12. Dan loves to grill and use his outdoor smoker. After we eat, we can head downtown to the Rubber Ducks game. For those that have come to the game with us in the past, we will try to beat the heat this year with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch game. Watch for more details and sign ups for both the cookout and the game next month.
