Grand Knight’s Message
Hello members of K of C 3410,
As our officers have been installed into their respective positions, we are excited to keep this well oiled machine rolling forward. There are a lot of volunteers and man hours that are put into making our council what it is. It’s like the church, the leader doesn’t make it what it is, it’s the community, the people, that make it what it is. I am so glad that our team works so well together and are able to get so many things accomplished. Your efforts do not go unnoticed!
We would like to welcome Brother Nathan Dort to a trustee position. He will be taking the role previously held by our former Grand Knight and current District Deputy, Brother Tom Goodhart. Tom oversees at least a dozen or so K of C councils in our area, within his District Deputy role. We want to thank Tom for his service as one of our trustees and to acknowledge his commitment and ongoing dedication to the K of C organization.
Also, we would like to welcome Brother Paul Hirsh to the role of Treasurer. Paul was a transfer from another council and joined 3410 several months ago. Paul is stepping into the role that was held by Brother Jim Thomas. Jim has served as Treasurer for many years, and we are deeply grateful for his dedication and countless hours of service. We thank him sincerely for everything he’s done.
Both Nathan and Paul will be confirmed to their new positions on Tuesday, August 4, at our monthly K of C meeting.
Lastly, we want to send our deepest sympathies to the family of Brother John “Ray” Hudacko. He went to be with our Lord on July 29. Please remember him and his family in your prayers. Rest easy, dear Brother.

Installation of new K of C Officers
On Tuesday, August 4, we will have Brother Nathan Dort be installed as a trustee and Brother Paul Hirsh installed as Treasurer. Congratulations to both in their new roles at 3410! Best wishes to both and you are welcomed with open arms!
July’s Charitable Donations
In the month of July, our council made donations to the Varsity Athletic Club and the Tyler Centnaroski Memorial Foundation. The Varsity Athletic Club runs the Nick Gross Memorial 3 on 3 Summer Shoot Out, which is a youth basketball tournament held in Akron. Our donation goes towards young children in financial need, to play in about 8 tournaments in the spring. The monies help to either reduce the child’s out of pocket costs to participate or it may even cover their costs entirely. The Tyler Centnaroski Memorial Foundation (TCMF) helps grant scholarships to college student athletes that play baseball. This is geared to student athletes that attend small colleges/universities that struggle with finances and likely do not have NIL sponsors. Total donations were $850.
August 15- Steak Out
We will have another steak out on Saturday, August 15 at the hall. The time is from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. or until the party’s over. The prices are the same: $20 steak dinner, $12 chicken dinner and $12 shrimp dinner. All dinners include a salad, baked potato, green beans and a roll. Please bring a dessert to share. You can add a six piece side of shrimp to any meal for $5. The sign up sheet is in the lounge or you can contact Shawn N. to get signed up or leave a message on the club’s answering machine. The deadline to RSVP is August 13, so act fast!
K of C Recruitment Volunteers Needed
Brother Frank Noffsinger, our Deputy Grand Knight, will be at the upcoming Queen of Heaven parish picnic, looking to see if we can increase our council membership. He will also be setting up dates at our other local parishes with a sign up table to see if we can attract new Brothers. He is looking for a few volunteers to assist him. Please contact Frank with any questions and to sign up, to help him out. The sign up tables will be staffed immediately after mass at our local parishes, which will not require much of your time, after mass.
2026 Football Crazr tickets
Football is right around the corner. Can you believe it? Some people get excited, some think that it means winter is right around the corner. Either way, the new season is coming. Brother Steve Dort is chairing Crazr tickets this year. If Brother’s have not received their tickets in person or in the mail, please contact Steve or the office. Tickets are $20 each. Please make sure the paid stubs being returned say Council 3410 on them, so we get the appropriate credit. Ticket sales help reduce our per capita cost each year. We would like to see participation and ticket sales increase from last year. We would like to see each Brother sell two tickets each. Please refer to the letter within the envelope of tickets for more details. The deadline for ticket turn in is October 15.
Oktoberfest party on September 30
We will proudly host the Culkar-Golob band to perform our Oktoberfest party on Wednesday, September 30. This is also September’s monthly drawing. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the music will be performed from 5:30-8 p.m. The cost is $10 per person for admission and to eat, and any additional donations will be welcomed to cover the band fee. Please bring a side dish/dessert to share. Don’t forget to dress in your best Oktoberfest attire!
Acme Receipts collection
We are assisting St. Francis de Sales with collecting Acme receipts again, as part of their fundraiser. Receipt collection will be in the lounge, behind the bar. Please give your receipts to whomever is tending to put into the designated envelope.
Charity Drive for September
We are discussing a charity drive of some sort for September. We are considering a shoe drive, clothing drive and/or a canned good drive, since we will be nearing colder weather and holidays. We are not set on just these three ideas. Keep on the lookout for more information in next month’s newsletter.
