Grand Knight’s Message
At our May meeting this Tuesday, we will hold elections for Council 3410 officer positions, with terms beginning in July 2026. I strongly encourage all Brother Knights to attend and participate in the voting process.
While not everyone may be ready to serve in an officer role, I ask that you prayerfully consider volunteering for one of the many important positions available beginning in July. These roles directly support the areas in which our council earns points toward achieving Star Council status and are essential to our continued success.
As the new Grand Knight assumes leadership in July, he will rely on dedicated members to fulfill these responsibilities and provide updates on their efforts. I will have volunteer sign-up sheets available at both the May and June meetings. You are also welcome to contact me at any time to express your interest.
The available roles include:
- Program Director – Oversees all Faith in Action programs.
- Faith Director – Implements initiatives such as spiritual reflection, RSVP, Marian Icon Prayer Program, building the domestic church kiosks, and coordinates two annual Masses for the council (one for deceased members and one for current members).
- Community Director – Leads community-based programs such as blood drives, coats for kids, Habitat for Humanity, and free throw championships.
- Life Director – Coordinates support for March for Life events, pregnancy center initiatives, and collaboration with special needs advocacy groups.
- Family Director – Promotes programs including Family of the Month/Year, Keep Christ in Christmas, Family Week, Consecration to the Holy Family, Food for Families, and Family Fully Alive.
- Membership Director – Develops and implements year-round membership growth initiatives, oversees recruitment committees, and ensures successful church drives and open houses.
- Retention Chairperson – Engages with members regularly to encourage participation in meetings, social events, and volunteer opportunities.
- Health Services Coordinator – Works with the Life Director to support initiatives such as Special Olympics, the Ultrasound Initiative, and Food for Families.
- Public Relations Coordinator – Manages communications including press releases, event photography, and social media to highlight the council’s good works.
- strong>Recruitment Committee (3 volunteers needed) – Assists the Membership Director with recruitment events and outreach efforts.
- Social Committee – Works closely with the Grand Knight to plan and coordinate events for council members throughout the year.
May and June will be active months for our council, please review the remainder of the newsletter for a full schedule of upcoming events. Finally, a reminder that Mother’s Day falls on May 10 this year. Be good everyone.
Steve Dort, Grand Knight

Flags for Veterans
Join us Saturday, May 23 at Holy Cross Cemetery to place flags at the graves of Veterans. Meet at 8 a.m. at the cemetery’s main office. It does help if you can bring a tool, like a long screw driver, to make a small hole to place the flag in. Contact Brother Bill Canan with any questions. Family and friends are welcomed.
Suitcase Collection
Brother Tom Ciccolini had a great suggestion for our next donation collection. Haven of Rest could use donations of slightly used and clean wheeled suit cases. We would like to collect 25-30 suitcases to donate for the use by the men and women at Haven of Rest. We are currently about ⅓ of the way there. If you have any questions you can contact Tom.

BINGO night
Over the past few summers, during our monthly drawing on the last Wednesday in June we have included a theme into the evening. We have had a luau, olympic night and a carnival. This year on June 24, we will have a BINGO night. We will start earlier than normal, as BINGO will be from 5-7 p.m. Then at 7, it will be our Potluck Dinner, and our monthly drawing will take place at 7:30 p.m.
