Grand Knight’s Message

I want to send a thank you to the Sedlock brothers, Damian and Steve, for their behind the scenes work they do to create the slideshow of events that plays in the lounge. The current slides look great! They get better each month.

It’s finally here! Get out your Football Crazr Tickets. Starting November 2, and for the following nine weeks, you’ll have a chance to win up to $400. Thanks again to everyone that bought & sold tickets. Good luck everybody!

We have also had to change our exemplification ceremony date again. We will have an exemplification ceremony on Sunday, November 9 at 11:30 am. If you know any Catholic men aged 18+, please invite them to join our council or give me their phone number. I was also wondering, for future exemplification ceremonies, if anyone has any contacts with the catholic high schools where we can possibly get the word out to male seniors who are 18, about joining our fraternal organization.

At October’s monthly drawing, we had a guest come in from Jay’s Kids. They are collecting items to help families with Christmas this year. There is a box in the lobby for some new items they are looking for. Winter hats, gloves, socks, kleenex, hand sanitizer, toothpaste/toothbrushes, hair brushes/combs, girls hair ties, and size small kid’s underwear. If you are able to pick up some items to donate, please drop them off at the hall in the lobby. We will collect items until Wednesday, November 26. Learn more at jayskids.org.

Over the next few months, we have quite a few activities taking place and tickets are on sale now. Read over our activities section for more information and get your tickets before they sell out. We are also starting the planning for our January Euchre tournament and chili cook-off. It will be on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Over the next several newsletters, I will be describing the different officer roles of our council that we elect each spring. If anyone is considering the position of Grand Knight, I am happy to discuss the role with you. We will take nominations in the spring and vote in May. The newly elected will start in July 2026.

We will have our monthly drawing the last Wednesday of November. It is the day before Thanksgiving, so keep your house clean and come out and enjoy dinner and the pot luck table before your turkey on Thursday.

Be Good Everyone.
Steve Dort, Grand Knight
